Does anyone have a good resource for cave locations and descriptions in Mexico. I will be heading to the Yucatan next week and am hoping to get some cave dives in. I will be staying on Cozumel and diving with my family but I have a few free days and I am hoping to get across to the mainland and get in some caves. I am doing a cave dive or two on Coz with German at Yucatech but I also want to do some others. I have done a dozen or so caves with Aquatech before but due to logistical planning I couldn't get dives scheduled with them so me and my buddy are thinking about just renting a car and some tanks.
I am pretty sure I can find a few of the caves but since Aquatech drove us before I am not sure I could locate that many. Particularly, I would like to dive Minotaur again but have no idea how to get there. I know there are great resources for florida caves such as floridacaves.com and tampadiving.com. Does anyone know of any resources like these for Mexican caves or else have any directions to some of the caves? I appreciate the help.

Ya. I've met Connie before when she was at Ginnie Springs. She is a great lady. I will contact her and see if she is available. I was under the impression that she was guiding with Aquatech though. Thanks for the suggestion.

She's heading back to Mexico next week....she may be there when you're going to be there. Email her at her website and see if she can hook you up. She guides her own groups at Aquatech.

Thanks Aktun :clapperThose sites are exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for sharing them. I was planning on being on the mainland Thursday the 7th and Friday the 8th and I am flying home Saturday but I definitely appreciate the offer for diving Sunday. Next time I am down there I will have to let you know.
Another very good guide is Dennis Weeks of Diablo Divers. Dennis has guided my husband, and taught my Full Cave class. He's a good guy.
But it's quite possible to dive nice systems without a guide. Minotauro, I believe, is next door to Cenote Eden, and you pay the people behind the blue house. They've put in nice tables.
Taj Maha is just past the ZG dive shop, and is well signed. There's some great stuff back in there, some really enormous rooms.
If you drive in the Dos Ojos road (well signed) and turn in at Dos Palmas, you have an inexpensive, very comfortable place with good cave in both directions. (Don't pay at the gate - tell the guys there you are going to Dos Palmas, and pay at the site.)
Since you are coming over from Coz, you probably don't want to go a whole lot further south, but if you turn up the Coba road from Tulum, Grand Cenote is beautifully signed and you could spend a week exploring all the gorgeous passage there.

You've got some great leads but I would be remiss if I didn't encourage you to contact my friends, Ela and Adam at Caveheaven.com. They are building up a truly great business in the Riviera Maya and work very hard at creating cave diving friendships along with business relationships. Have a great trip! I will be there is a couple of weeks.
