I suppose if I searched I could find my answer, but being lazy today I thought I'd just ask instead. Bringing 5-6 people to cave country Jan 3-10 and looking for a place to rent for the week to accomodate 6. Prefer something south side of Ginnie Spring, but not too far south.

thanks,

Jim Wyatt has a place: http://www.cavediveflorida.com/Rum_House.htm. Wayne @ Amigo's has a couple. The Webbers have http://www.vacationrentals.com/vacation-rentals/15821.html.

If you don't find anything South, there is Lesley's house near Peacock.

It would be roomy for 6....

It's a few miles north from ginnie, in Fort White but Randy Thorntons Cave country lodge (http://www.cavecountrylodging.com) is a really nice house. Comfortable for 6-8 people and very reasonably priced. We stayed there for a week during the summer and really loved it! The house has a really nice kitchen, laundry and dryer, big garage, a barbecue etc. I really recommend it!

+1 for Randy Thornton's Cave Country Lodging at www.cavecountrylodging.com (http://www.cavecountrylodging.com). I have stayed there and it is a very nice place with great amenities. The kitchen and bathrooms are great and there is tons of room for dive gear. We had 7 people there and were very comfortable. It is about half-way between Fort White and High Springs. Only a few minutes from Ginnie.

All the places mentioned are excellent accomodations. My place is better suited for 4 people maximum. I know people who have stayed at Chateau H2O, Randy Thornton's place and Leslies' place and I have heard nothing but good about each. You will not go wrong with any of those three.

Thanks everyone. I knew about some of the places, have stayed at some, but have learned of new places too. Thanks for the update. As soon as I get some committment from the other divers I will begin contacting owners. thanks again,

That reminds me of the lady who used to cruise up and down the Suwannee in a pontoon boat at LR and Telford, and sell hot dogs.

I have stayed at the Chateau H2O and it was very nice. Will stay again when staying in the Ginnie area.

The important thing, when looking for a place to stay as I just did research for a group of friends with 4-6 divers back in November, is BATHROOMS! Make sure you check to see how many bathrooms the rental has.....a few I looked at could handle 6 divers, but only one bathroom.

One night of bad chili, or just trying to get going in the morning/cleaned up in the evening could be real hassle.

Another +1 for ChateauH2O as we stayed there for the past week (01/16-22/2010). Michael has a nice showing of his cave diving art work, nice selections of diving reading material and DVDs and the home is set up for handling your gear post dive. It is located on a large multi acre lot in a quiet and peaceful setting that is only 5 miles from Ginny.
