A friend of mine showed me this site yesterday: http://besea.poseidon.se

Is this stuff good enough to use for cave diving you think?

The wings look like they are a bit bunched up, but it does seem capable of carrying doubles etc. (nice pics of that on the site). I would like to see one in the water.

:?:

My only cave attempts were with a single cylinder and later with a pony of 3 litres. Yes very dull.

But, I have various wing configs for my open water diving. I would appreciate any comments on my gear and how best to rig for caves...sorry caverns, to start with:

1. OMS double 100 bladder with bungees (oooh, no no), I know bungees don't go in caves...or can they??? Various other wings...single bladder.
2. Various backplates.
3. Various harness, that I cut and rigged myself
4. Dive Rite trans pak2....I know, failure points at the clips. I will sort that with some banding sewn in as I have done it with my other webbing.

So, point me in the right direction...please.

Why not stick with a backplate and wings?
They would probably be less expensive and will dry a lot quicker than the poseidon...

If you do like that style though, check out the Dive Rite Transpac, it can be customized with different lift capacity wings and probably will run you similar price.

Dive safe.

The new Poseidon BCDs look very nice but all the extras arn't good in a cave enviroment. I have a Dive-Rite Plastic backsplate and a set of Halcyon Pioneer wings, works perfect with a single tank. For Double tanks go for the Halcyon Explorer wings. That is all you want to have on when in a cave, all the pockets and padding just makes you less streamlined.
