uh ok, anyone who is using a Nomad is using a Transpac.
I have a transpac II with a dive rite trek wing. It works fine and I really like it. However, I made my own harness (similar to transpac) and use a dive rite classic wing on it. both work just fine.

Chrissy and I both use a Transpac II for our sidemount rigs, She has had hears for about 3 years, and I have had mine since the II was first introduced by Diverite. We both started out with the triangle shaped travel wing, which worked great, in that it was small, and had connectors at the corners for controlling the float of the wing. It did not, however, have a lot of lift, and anything over 80s required a drysuit to remain neutral. In addition, to maintain a level attitude, the wing must be mounted very low on the body to keep the knees out of the silt- not where you would normally mount it as shown in the manuals. In the intervening years, as the travel wing disappeared, and ours slowly but surely fell apart, I replaced mine with a rec wing. This completely fixed the lack of lift issue, but increased bulk and complexity. It also increased the resiliency of the wing, as now the stretch part of the wing casing is hidden inside, where it should be. I find that if you tighten the elastic strap all the way down and tie it off so it is not adjustable, and then place the top of the wing just at the shoulder blades, I can keep a level profile with only a 4 lb weight between the shoulder blades. I can dive any tank size from AL30s to LP120s with this configuration with no changes or weighting. Sorry for no pics, I am not at home.
Just to be clear- I do NOT use the ass-plate, which I consider to be the part that turns a transpac into a nomad, nor do I plan to start using one.

I have been using one for 7-8 years. I have a weird OMS wing that I found at CE one day. It had a top string dump on the right shoulder. I switched that with the inflator side and flipped the wing over. Now my inflator/deflator is on my left shoulder and under the wing. No more scraping issues!!!
It had the 'bondage' string, so I took that off and used 8 individual heavy elastic cords. About an hour in my pool and I had them adjusted ranging from tight to about 2-3 inches for a custom fit wing.
I also do not use a butt plate. I like my tanks pretty snug and I find the hangers have just the right amount of snugness and mobility for my preference. I can get my hand under the tanks and at the surface or going face up the tanks can move just enough to be comfortable without flopping around.
