Myself and two friends went down to High Springs and took our Full Cave with Lamar Hires. Wow, What a experience! That man likes to swim and swim and swim.. Already talking about going back. Met alot of really great people in cave country.
Spent the first morning at DiveRite in classroom going over some paperwork and lecture time. Then that afternoon we hit the water.
Our first dive was at Little River with 900' of penetration and 6min. of deco on O2. Us Kansas boys had Air in our doubles. We dove nitrox from that point on out. This was our check out dive with Lamar. He said we averaged 55' a min. swim time. Lamar introduced us to Harry Averill..What a Riot he is..
From there we dove Peacock a couple times, The Devil's Ear a couple times (Kick Ass) Madison Blue (Very Nice).

Not a problem I dive about every other weekend in Missouri and most of our caves are deep and in very cold water with very low viz. In Missouri the last cave I was in the entrance was at 170' and viz. was about 5-7' up to the entrance then it opened up to about 15' once inside and water temp was 48deg. Had a great laugh while in some of the caves in Flordia, Much different silt.... But still to be respected!

Man I was all over that story. Till you said 48deg that is cold. Too cold for me I will stay here.

Our average cave water temp is 58* in RBD, CB, BS. I bet he was talking about hook cave in an old Mine at Oranogo.

Had some buddies go bye RBD and the vis is about 12-15 but flow is still kicking. Said he saw a few there trying to get in and bailed on it.

SLIM you are the MAN... Oronogo is exactly where I was talking about. But not "Hook Cave". I was at the Main Tunnel "Walkway Entrance" on the South Side about 75' South of the Flywheel where the old dive bell line is at. Thanks for the info on RBD, Kevin, Mike and Myself were thinking about diving there in a couple of weeks. Hopefully the flow will be way down by then.

I just finished mine, too. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to tie in a spool and go "see where that goes", isn't it?

Congratulations! My wife and I were the ones getting fills behind you guys every night in the yellow Subaru. We didn't see you the last day or two and were wondering how it went. (We finished our full cave on that trip as well).

We had a good time hanging out with you guys waiting on the tanks to fill.

Congrats to you both! Everything went great for us. Couldn't be more pleased with Lamar's training and Harry's jokes. Great to meet the both of you. Guess My Avatar Pic. gave me away. Let me know when your wife wants to sell the Subaru...Really...:)
