Have anybody found a connection between Catacombs and Lips bypass not swimming through Gallery?
Second one: there is low and sand mound that prevents further penetration at the end of a large SEastern stretched room between Lips and Keyhole. Behind that hill it looks like it is gettling larger and goes down. Did somebody try to dig it?
I would love to know more about little things that are not on regular map, is there SM map in existence?

No. I've heard the rumor but I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist. However you can get within about 30' and keeping to the wall squeeze though a small hole without having to cross the open space.

Kind-of... Send me your E-mail.

Is this the south-east passage your talking about?

Correct, that is it. At the very SE end of it. If you look in between ceiling and sand mound there is room behind it and another low ceiling continuation. Although in accordance with sm update of Steve's map i'v got today there is "ain't going"

Don't consider my sidemount map complete. There could be something over there (I haven't looked). There could be lots of stuff in there all over the place that isn't included.

One thing I would say though that is if there was a connection there to any passages on the far side of the keyhole you could probably tell by the flow. I don't think there is any flow there is there - is there?

No flow. But could sand mound grow up if there never was a flow? This end of a room has shalower depth than main trunk passage.

It shouldn't grow up but it might fall down into a lower section leaving the mound there.
Or maybe like you suggest there was once flow there and it got choaked off but that seems hard to believe becouse the flow comming from bone line I think should be sufficient to clear any debris if there was a man passable passage there.

There could be passage there to push I just doubt it goes through to the bone line. If something is there at the bottom of the mound - small, probably nasty, and in no flow passage - do you want to find it?

FYI-that area is called Devil's Gizzard.

just a comment, the little area in the SW of the white room would seem to go on the general direction of the little hole in the SW of the gizzard. Has anyone tried to connect?

That tunnel would have to make a full U-turn to go anywhere near the gizzard... Its to small to penetrate anyway.

these are 2 places i always thought there was probably a connection even if it was too small to penetrate.

The one off the Expressway does connect (for sidemount gear only but it's not too bad).

The other doesn't (I'm fairly sure). A dye trace might prove me wrong but I don't think flow even goes in that direction.

okay, I was prety sure ppl had penetrated the first one. I wasnt sure of the other. theres really no need to go through that tunnel off the expressway anyway but it should probably be filled in on the map.

did steve berman not do any side-mounting in the devils dystem?

The line between the Expressway and the mainline/Hill 400 jump does connect, it's a very nice tunnel with one really low section right before coming out to the mainline side. If you do it in backmount please be sure to use 85's or HP100's etc 'cause you will hit the floor if you use 8" diameter tanks.
The tunnel between Rollercoaster and the mainline does not connect, but you can go a considerable ways down each side....just expect to exit in "less than ideal" visibility :D
Jeff should have his map out within a week or so and it has quite a bit more detail than what's currently available including all the sidemount tunnels and lines etc.....
Hope this helps :)

Safe diving,

Rich

Even thinner tanks backmount won't fit through there without really messing things up. Don't try to go through in backmount just turn around and head back the way you came in. Its a bit committed, tight, siphon and clay bottom so it's hard to turn around once you try to head out. Sidemount there for real.
