The NSS-CDS 2005 Board of Directors Platform Statements for the upcoming election are in. There are 4 General Membership seats up for election, plus the instructors have to vote on their training director.

It would be nice to see an online debate for CDS BOD candidates. There seems to be quite a few accusations from several people. I would like to see someone speak up and respond.

Sincerely,
Sam

True, but it would be hard under the forum rules, and be contrary to the intent of the CDF:

"The purpose of the Cave Diver's Forum is to provide a place on the internet for civil discussions of anything cave diving related."

Rule #6 - No personal opinions or endorsements (negative or positive) about other individuals, businesses, or cave diving organizations.

I suspect any "debate" would lead to personal opinions, and violations of rule #6.

There should be a public "Q&A" session where all candidates are on a platform open for public questions.

Of course this would be prior to any election date. :)

Just an idea...

I am not a member, and probably never will be, but seems their own site, http://www.nsscds.org/forum/ , would be an appropriate place for nominees to do their 'politicing'

Stacy,

That would seem appropriate but the only way to register is to be on the BOD from the message I saw.

We can start the ball rolling here. If CDS members have general questions that they want to post we can list them here and they can respond here if they wish. We can always turn the section over to the CDS if they want to host it when they are ready.
