I have thought about it,but since some of what we do is technical jargon I am unsure how well it will do.

Although from the East Coast originally I'm now fluent in Texan and can do conversational Californian.....of course the problem with California is the number of local dialects.

This probably doesn't meet your needs but don't hesitate to let me know if I can help. :-)

What languages are you looking for?
Mostly the common languages, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.

It is mostly for visitors to the area.

Should be able to take care of the French and maybe get it into Russian too

The flag says it all! I can take care of the German. I pass on the Russian, just to long ago since I used it and it would turn out horrible.

I'll give the Spanish a go; however I'd want a native speaker to double check my efforts.

Regarding a French translation, I have a friend who may be able to help, if I can reach him. He's a Parisian living in CA and also is a technical diver.

Kelly or Forrest, could you PM me a copy of the text? Also, when do you need the finished product?

Re:the online translators (Google, Babble, etc) -- they'll mangle any translation attempt. Using them might result in a comical translation or one that's offensive. 'Best not to depend on them.

Cheers,
Barbara

I feel pretty certain ARY would do Russian and maybe Finnish if you need it done with either one. ( I know he speaks Finnish but not sure how his written skills are in it. ) I will give him a call tomorrow and ask him.

Well, I am Portuguese so if you need just ask. I have actually already translated the first section and could have it all, time permitting, by Sunday or Monday, but since you have told someone else you'd use their translation I'll wait.

I don't know if you need a translation to Czech or Slovak. I am oroginally from Czechoslovakia, so in case you need I can translate to Czech. Slovaks understand Czech as well so I don't think there is a need for both. If it is, my wife can probably manage that.
