I’m sure many of you have read about this.

According to the news a new sink hole has opened up in Lake City...that area is at this time deemed unstable. Once the area stabilizes, and Columbia county and the state figure out what should be done with it. I'm sure that it could be explored and mapped out. One problem that I see is that it could be black water???

I do not recommend anyone go searching this site out right now but place it in the back of your mind. When and if it is explored let the knowledgeable and experienced ones do it.

Here is a link from the Gainesville Sun this AM.

http://www.Gainesville.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200550302025

They..."Officials estimated that every six minutes about 3 million gallons of water rushed into the sinkhole from the pond".

Now that's a lot of water.

If it affects the locals' water, then it would be worth exploring (means there is a hydro connection there)....

If it is just a bare chamber, not worth checking out.... other then to sound it and see how "deep" it is...

Thought I had read somewhere, yesterday I belive, that Wes Skiles was supposedly organizing an exploration there once it stabilized. Will be interested to see what comes of it.

Found where I saw that, a felloe on TDS from Jax posted last night about catching the end of a segment on the news that featured Wes. Said the dive was planned for today but I seriously doubt if that happened. It was reported that the house has been eaten by the hole now so I guess they got to have their party.

Local reports said the residents had removed their belongings already; would it be out of the question for a group of us to offer to hastily raze the remaining home structure? Seems easier to do it NOW than later when the hideous leavin's are U/W...
