Welsh Allyn no longer makes the 18w lamp.

Welsh Allyn no longer makes the 18w lamp.

That is true, but the WA 21w is a direct replacement utilizing the same ballast. The bigger hurdle is that DR no longer supports the WA 18w lights (they will give credit towards an exchange) and their new 21w light is NOT a WA assembly. You will have to access the WA 21w bulb from one of the other vendors....No, WA willl not sell single units directly to the consumer.

Hi Lee, are you sure that Welch Allen will not sell the M21N002 Bulb in single quantities? Their Homepage/Webshop lists it in single quantities for $221.00 + S&H.

Get a hold of your LDS and support them. I have found out that the price of the bulds no matter what size is mostly a tranfer of cost. The LDS makes no money on it. By the time you acctually order it, pay the price plus shipping, most of the time the price will be the same.

I for one prefer to support my LDS.
