Dear Cave Divers Forum members - Just wanted to announce that Dive Addicts will be holding a CCR Experience/Try Dive evening on September 10th, from 6-10PM.

Participants will have the opportunity to compare 5 different CCR units - Hammerhead, Sentinel, Optima, Inspiration & Evolution. Under the watchful eyes of Instructors Randy & Joshua Thornton and a couple of dive masters, you will get a chance to try out different units and compare features and suitability.

Cost is only $20 per participant. There will be a maximum of 12 divers accepted for the event and each participant will also receive a Dive Addicts T-shirt

If you are interested in participating, please PM me and we will reserve you a spot. This is a great opportunity to see first hand multiple units and compare before you buy!

Regards,
Randy

Where is the event being held?

It's being held at our shop www.diveaddicts.com in Draper, a suburb on the South end of Salt Lake City.

We have a large training pool, 12 feet deep. The pool will make for a little safer environment for people who have never been on CCR. We also have a great open water training site just an hour away called the crater. It's a geothermic dome that looks like a volcano. Great site for the cold winter months! Part of a larger interconnected system that potentially has diveable caves. The biggest problem thus far with these caves is the temperature. Most of the ones that we have gained access to so far are too warm to dive! 100 to 104 degrees. After a few minutes, it makes you feel ill!

We have another site that we are currently exploring that is just the opposite. 39 - 42 degree water. It makes the task loading take on a whole new meaning!

You know, if you stand with one foot in a bucket of ice water and the other foot in a bucket of boiling water, on average it feels pretty good.
