View Full Version : Mystery Photo
This is my first Mystery Photo, so go easy on me...
The objective is to name the cave system this is in, and where it is within that system... :D
Obviously the one who took this pic and the other diver with me are not allowed to answer...

Being the one that took the picture, I won't answer. But I am curious - why is the cross there?

well that looks like a permanant line, so its probably in the beggining area of a cave. and its a solution cave formed in limestone so its probably in florida. that narrows it down to about 100 cave systems!

I'm gonna take a wild guess at it and say ginnie cuz it has a permanant line.

I don't know who put the cross there or why, but it was found there some time ago with a waterlogged death certificate that disolved when agitated. Needless to say, the cert didn't last long there, but the cross still remains...

Ok, you got the dive site... now where is the cross located within the system? 8)
I was looking at the cross in eagles nest last week. It was bigger and was standing upright. (if I remember correctly). The photo shown appears smaller and laying against the rock. Was olsen the correct answer? I've never seen it. Glen

No, Waynes World is where the cross resides. :)

Kinda looks like there might be a loop in that line- that would make it in the entrance shaft- most likely towards the bottom- I've never seen a cross there, but there is so much crap sunk in the silt in that shaft and the entrance room, it wouldnt suprise me.

This is close enough...
It is placed in the rock behind the line just as you exit the first room towards the solution tube for exit.
It was first seen by me about 9 months ago while doing deco at 30 ft solo... it was a 'sobering' moment the first time I saw it...
