Fred and I dove Little River Sunday morning/afternoon. Most of the cave activity was just getting done when we got in the water. I had heard reports of the vis being kind of funky in the Florida room , but when we got there , we had about 20-40 feet vis at least. (could see the walls pretty easily). Turned just past the rock that looks like 5 fingers ( LOL ).
With the flow being up , the ride out was easy. Down the Merry Go Round and did a lot of peeking into those "side" tunnels"
Both dead Sturgeon's have been pretty much eaten (!!!) up. Starting to see some cray-fishers again too.
Vis was up from two weeks ago , river level down , and the flow is up !!! (SMILE)
Very nice , very nice.
Thanks Fred , for putting up with a rookie SMer.

P.S. And like Ginnie , you get a dive and a show!!! ( LOL )
On Deco , we were watching the local crowd rehearsing for the "dive down and pick up rocks for ballast" contests. (EEK)
Good think they weren't dropping those rocks on us.

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about the guy that hangs out just about every day in the Little River parking lot.
I've seen him there for years it seems and it appears he lives out of his truck. At first I thought it might be a problem leaving him alone in the parking lot with the vehicles but all seems well with that.
The only issue with him that I've noticed is that he sometimes comes to talk as you're gearing up and he can talk for a long time.
He seems harmless enough but I wanted to ask if anybody else has had any problems with him.
He claims to have been a cave diver at one time and seems to know some things about diving.

Yeah, I've met people like that.
Yep, I met him too. He either listens a lot to cave divers, or actually was a cave diver once. I asked his name, but all he would say was "Sam". He claims to have dived with John Harper.

Once he got a little too interested in all the gear in my truck. He noted "guess you'll be down there for awhile". So I called Suwannee sheriff and they had him move along to Royal Spring.

I think I met that guy there last week...he was very interested in our dive plan and talked like he was once a cave diver, though I'm sure he picked up the lingo from other divers. He was pretty happy when we offered him some food. I was concerned about my vehicle, but as we were entering the water a number of swimmers showed up. As we got out from the dive he was leaving the park on his motorcycle looking thing.

Dunno if it's the same guy, but the one time I was at Little River, a guy kept talking to us as we were gearing up in the shallows. Seems pretty consistent with what you guys are saying. He kept asking us about Table Rock even though we repeatedly told him I was only cavern.

I have never had a problem with him. He watches out for people and is a nice guy. He is now in his summer vechile, which is a scooter. I do agree he talks alot but figure he is lonely. Guess living in south Florida I am used to homeless people. Most are very nice people just down on their luck or choose to live on the streets.
