What size wing do you suggest with double 125 fabers ?

My first thought is 125s are pretty big. Unless you are also large, you might not like them.

As for a wing, check how much they weight in water, and compare to 104s or 108s. Then add the difference to a standard wing (about 55lb). My guess would be 60 or 65 lbs.

I once tried a 100 lb wing, and I felt like I had a Manta ray over my head. If you roll to the side, all the gas goes to the high side of the wing, and you get stuck there :-)

I'm 6'2 and weigh 210 pound and am in fairly good condition, I found a great deal on these tanks. I was wondering about the Hollis 85 lb. wing or the Classic.

I've seen the hollis 85lb wing, you could load old school 104's onto that and still use it as a lift bag

85 lb is probably too much. How much lift does their classic have?

Those tanks are the same weight (or lighter) than HP130's or LP104's are they not?

They weigh 52 lbs. each.

Faber 121 are lighter in the water compared to just about everything else. Out of the water is a different story. My double 121's I use my Deep Sea Supply LCD50 or 55. The longer and more narrow the wing the better. You don't want a short wide wing wrapped around the top of the tanks.

I think some of the PST 104's were 54# without valves. 121's have a volume of 19 liters and 104's are about 16.2 liters. So the 121's are displaces ~2.8 liters more water or about 6.6 lbs for roughly the same weight. So they are about 13 pounds lighter in the water than a set of 104's.

So what wing will be the best for a set of lp 125's ?

I use double X8-130's on an alum. backplate and I have a dual bladder dr rec wing that is 51 lbs of lift. It could use a lb or 2 more lift. I would suggest a wing in the 60-65lbs range. I just ordered a 65lbs wing so that I could carry stages.

I use a DR Classic wing for double 104's, LP 120's, etc, with a stage, with an AL40 for O2, etc. I've used the Classic with an AL80 and two AL40's for deep stuff, no issues. For deeper stuff I dive dry, this time of year for shallower stuff (100 ft or so) I dive wet, no issues. Not too expensive, trims out nice in the water, when it dies I'll get another one. I started out with an OMS unbanded 60# wing, it does OK, but the DR trimmed out nicer, seemed to work better. I tried another 55# wing, narrower, it gave me a squeeze on the sides when I inflated it fully. I went back to the DR Classic. For me it works - your mileage may vary.

If what caverkevin says is true, then a standard 55-60 lb wing should work fine.

Thank you for the info. I am going with the Classic EXP.

Do you se how much easier it is to calculate in Liters ! (and meter and bar!!!) :rollguy:rollguy
