hello everyone. I just started caving and up until this point have mostly open water gear. I am in the military so alot of our standard issue gear is considered "tech" such as our dry suits, finns, maskes etc etc

what I am looking for is
tanks
regs
LIGHTS
REELS
spg's
computers
I am trying to decide on a plate or transpac. I have enough open water bc's and will be looking to mainly double back mounted. Andthing you have laying around you think i might need let me know. I would rather give my money to a member and fellow diver then to a company. call me weird.

thanks Adam

you might help us out with some idea of your budget in total or for a specific item. Also your preference to certain brands or styles might help too. What size tanks your looking for or steel v.s. aluminum, etc.

Go slow purchasing...talk to your instructor. He/she can help you narrow down your selections.

and the reason I have not been more specific on what I am looking for is because I truly am not sure. In the military we use dui and aqualung. I have been real impressed with those brands but I also know they do not offer much in the way of cave diving. I would like to stick with a back mounted design. That is what we dive in the military twin al 80's on a blackdiamond bc so I am used to that and pretty comfy diving back mounted. I am 5'9 and 180 and used to carying a heavy load so you guys would know better then me as far as tanks size. As for price. For a tank set up I would like to stay under $500.00 I work at a dive shop and can get everything at cost but we dont sell any tech/cave gear. I really need/want a light I would like to stay around 400 for that. hope I am not being to stingy.
thank again

sounds good the only diving t-shirts we have on the front say usmc combat diver and on the back have two marines coming out of the water with rifles and rebreathers on. We have them in blk, green, yellow and I think red just give me a size. we only order when a class graduates but i might be able to get one sooner. And I am hoping that is not all you want as payment. I am new but I know this gear is not cheap. and I am also intrested in the light. Is it a hid canister?

Just a t-stirt size med. I have to much gear. And like I said thanks for the service. I build LED lights. From 440 to 5000 lumens. I have a very compact 1000 lumens. With 10 hours burn time.

As far as lights go HID's break easy and cost to replace. LED are bullet proof. The 10 watt HID puts out about 400-500 lumens (depending on brand) this light is 1000 lumens at 12 watts. (And in your price range) I can give you a color choice (on the light head) blue, red, green, black, purple, and gold

thanks again to everyone. Like i said I work in a dive shop but would still rather give my greenbacks to other divers rather than a big company. Besides all we have is spear fishing stuff....
