Hi,

Can anyone recommend a diver friendly hotel close to Eagle's Nest?

Thanks,
Marc

Search in Weekie Watchie, that's probably the closest tourist trap area, or Crystal River. Weekie Watchie is closer, but CR may have more choices.

We've been staying at the Comfort Inn (http://www.comfortinn.com/hotel-weeki_wachee-florida-FL555) at the corner of US 19 and Hwy 50. It's about 10-15 minutes from the EN gate. Rooms usually run about $75/night, plus taxes and they included a (mediocre) continental breakfast. They also have Wi-Fi. It's clean and comfortable. The rooms have plenty of space for gear and even include a plug strip built into the desk so there's lots of power available for charging. It's been working well for us.

I stayed at the Comfort Inn my last trip down. It's clean and functional. A step up from the place we stayed in High Springs.

Thanks for the advice. Perhaps a "Motel" would be better, where I can park directly in front of the hotel room? It seems to be a bit of a pain to carry the rebreather and other gear from the parking lot into the room.

Hey Marc and everyone else. I just bought a home in Ft. White, about 5 mins. from Amigos Dive Center. As soon as I get it furnished this month, I will be renting it out to "responsible" cave divers. More information to follow!

Regards,
Randy

Yeah, that's about a 2.5 hour drive from Eagle's Nest...

Then the Comfort Inn we mentioned is what you're after. You're not the only one with gear to carry.

Yeah, I know. I just thought I would mention it while I was thinking about it!

That is the setup for the Comfort Inn if you get a room on the first floor.

I think you still owe me for carrying you HH at Peacock? Thanks for letting us know I might take you up on it in the future.

It was Jackson Blue, and yes, you are welcome to use it anytime! (I guess I can classify you as responsible!)

Dah....right Jackson Blue. You better give me good directions or I most likely will get lost....or so it seems.
