Predictions for 2003

2003 - New Year Predictions

I predict the following for Year 2003 (try to remember the rules!):

1) Little River opens the day after the annual CDF Social

2) Madison Blue opens the day after the annual CDF Social

3) The CDF Social will have TOO MUCH food

4) GUE, NSS-CDS, NACD, TDI, IANTD, WKPP all agree on something! They help sponsor the next CDF social. Dive Rite, Halcyon, OMS and a lot of others all compete to donate the best (and most) grand prize.

5) Lots of caves re-open

6) More people with digital cameras will start sharing their images and video clips online

7) The CDF produces another video or two...

8) Bubba finally gets to put to use all the gear he has accumulated at Telford and gets open water to full cave certified, but the Repo lady, his 4th wife (who is also his first cousin and half sister), repossesses his 1972 Ford pickup truck (with all his gear).

9) The gear resource page finally gets going, but gets real controversial, so Rich and Paul break it down into DIR, DIMR (do it mostly right), DIMW (do it my way), and DIW (do it wrong), with hundreds of personal testimonials and examples for each section.

10) The IRAP (Incident Reporting Analyst Project) releases some of its collected data (all 6 submissions)

11) Manatee Springs gets really clear

12) Someone extends the distance in Cathedral... New Record!

13) Little River gets an award for being the 'Most Natural Looking Florida Spring'

14) Cabin Lodging is available at Madison Springs

15) Connection is made with The Crypt, Lower Orange AND Peacock III.

16) Sidemounting gets even more popular because of new cave passages being found.

17) A 16 foot gator moves into Peacock I.

18) I (tj) get cited for Driving without a DPV license...

19) Forrest Wilson comes out of the closet.... He runs for a Board of Director position with one of the agencies...

20) More 'models' (Sorry Anna) get mysteriously added to the T-shirt page.

21) All the Cave Diving Troll posters, including 'Who the Bell Tolls', get together with Ralph Nader (new cave diver) and create their own web site title: Cave Diving Trolls & Friends. It gets to be a great success but because of problems, they (get this) make up some RULES...
WYDT, SID and Jack are the first ones banned!

22) No one plans any more socials in freezing weather!
