Attaching accessories:
When attaching bolt clips to lights etc (so they can be attached to the
harness) I prefer not to
use zip ties as these break somewhat easily. Better choice is to use
cave line (can be cut in an emergency) threading a few wraps through the
object and the bolt clip, then tying the ends off using a square knot.
To stop the line from coming undone, light the ends on fire and then
melt them into the knot by squishing down on them with the bottom of a
lighter. Regulator “necklace”: One of the better ways to keep your back up regulator within easy reach is to use a “necklace”. This can be done in a number of ways. Two options are presented here: 1) One can simply pass a piece of bungee through the mouthpiece zip tie and then hang it around the neck. 2) as illustrated in the following photo make a piece of bungee cord into a loop with a smaller loop at the end formed by two fisherman’s knots and then place the regulator mouthpiece through the smaller loop and hang around neck. |
